Musnad Ahmad 33:300

Yahya ibn Sa'id narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah saying: "The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, performed Tawaf of the House and [the sa'i] between al-Safa and al-Marwa during the Farewell Pilgrimage while riding his mount, so that the people might see him, and so that he might be prominent, and so that they might ask him [questions], for the people had crowded around him."
