Musnad Ahmad 33:310

Yahya narrated to us, from Ibn Jurayj, Abdullah ibn Ubayd ibn Umayr informed me, that Abd al-Rahman ibn Abdullah ibn Abi Ammar informed him, he said: I asked Jabir ibn Abdullah, and I said: "The hyena, do I eat it?" He said: "Yes." He said: I said: "Is it game?" He said: "Yes." I said: "Did you hear that from the Prophet of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?" He said: "Yes."
