مسند جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنه

Hadith 33:316

Yahya narrated to us, from Ja'far, my father narrated to me, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to say in his sermon after the Tashahhud: "The best of speech is the Book of Allah, and the best of guidance is the guidance of Muhammad." Yahya said: "And I do not know it except that he said: 'And the worst of affairs are their newly invented matters.'" And when he mentioned the Hour, he would raise his voice, and his anger would intensify, as if he were a warner of an army. Then he would say: "I and the Hour have been sent like these two," and he gestured—Yahya described it with the index finger and the middle finger.
