Musnad Ahmad 33:34

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, Abu al-Zubayr informed us that he heard Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah narrating from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, that he gave a sermon one day and mentioned a man from among his companions who had passed away and was shrouded in an insufficient shroud and buried at night. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, forbade that a man be buried at night until he is prayed over, unless a person is compelled to do that. And the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "If one of you shrouds his brother, let him make his shroud good."
