Musnad Ahmad 33:380

Abu ‘Asim al-Dahhak ibn Makhlad narrated to us, from ‘Abd al-Hamid ibn Ja‘far, who said: Yazid ibn Abi Habib informed me that ‘Ata’ wrote mentioning that he heard Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying in the year of the Conquest: "Indeed, Allah and His Messenger have prohibited the sale of swine, the sale of carrion, the sale of wine, and the sale of idols." A man said: "O Messenger of Allah, what is your view on the fats of carrion? For ships are greased with it, hides are treated with it, and people use it for lamps." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "May Allah fight the Jews! When Allah prohibited its fats, they melted them down, then sold them, and consumed their price."
