Musnad Ahmad 33:425

Yahya ibn Adam narrated to us, Qutbah narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "When you perfume the deceased with incense, perfume him three times."
