Musnad Ahmad 33:513

Surayj ibn al-Nu‘man narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Talhah narrated to us, from al-A‘mash, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Draw near [to the truth] and be upright, for no one among you will be saved by his deeds." They said: "Not even you, O Messenger of Allah?" He said: "Not even me, unless Allah covers me with His mercy."
