Musnad Jabir ibn Abdullah (RA)

Hadith 33:515

Abdullah ibn al-Walid narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, Ja'far narrated to us, from his father, from Jabir, who said: "When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned the Hour, his cheeks would redden, his anger would intensify, and his voice would rise, as if he were a warner of an army, saying: 'They have come upon you in the morning, they have come upon you in the evening.'" He said: And he would say: "I am closer to the believers than their own selves. Whoever leaves behind wealth, it is for his family, and whoever leaves behind debt or dependents, then it is to me and upon me, and I am closer to the believers."
