Musnad Ahmad 33:548

Hassan narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah informed us, Abu al-Zubayr informed us, from Jabir, that he said: The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, commanded us regarding the day of Ashura to fast it. And he said: "It is a day that the Jews used to fast."
