Musnad Ahmad 33:583

Husayn ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Rashid narrated to us, from Sulayman ibn Musa, from ‘Ata’, from Jabir, who said: "We used to obtain, along with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), from our spoils of war from the polytheists, water skins and containers, and we would divide them, even though they were all dead [i.e., made from the hides of animals that had not been slaughtered according to Islamic law]."
