Musnad Ahmad 33:616

Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, that when Hunayn was conquered, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent out detachments, and they brought camels and sheep, and he distributed them among the Quraysh. He said: We, the Ansar, felt aggrieved by that, and that reached him. So he gathered us and addressed us, saying: "Are you not pleased that you have been given the Messenger of Allah? By Allah, if the people were to travel through a valley, and you were to travel through a mountain pass, I would follow your mountain pass." They said: We are pleased, O Messenger of Allah.
