Musnad Ahmad 33:642

Musa and Hassan ibn Musa narrated to us, they said: Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, he said: I asked Jabir about the sacrifice (al-nahr). Jabir said: "The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, prayed with us on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr) in Medina. Some men stepped forward and performed their sacrifice, thinking that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, had already performed his sacrifice. So the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, ordered whoever had performed the sacrifice to perform another sacrifice, and that they should not perform the sacrifice until he had performed the sacrifice."
