Musa narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah narrated to us, from Abu al-Zubayr, who said: I asked Jabir, "Did the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say anything regarding *tira* (evil omens) and *adwa* (contagion)?" Jabir said: I heard him say, "Every servant’s *ta'ir* (fate/omen) is tied to his neck."
