Hadith 33:681
Zakariya ibn 'Adi narrated to us, 'Ubayd Allah informed us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil, from Jabir, who said: The wife of Sa'd ibn al-Rabi' came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, with her two daughters from Sa'd. She said: "O Messenger of Allah, these are the two daughters of Sa'd ibn al-Rabi'. Their father was killed with you at Uhud as a martyr, and their paternal uncle has taken their wealth, leaving no wealth for them, and they cannot be married unless they have wealth." He said: So he said, "Allah will judge regarding that." He said: Then the verse of inheritance was revealed. So the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, sent for their paternal uncle and said, "Give the two daughters of Sa'd two-thirds, and their mother one-eighth, and whatever remains is yours."
