Musnad Ahmad 33:701

'Ali ibn 'Ayyash narrated to us, Muhammad ibn Mutarrif narrated to us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from Jabir ibn 'Abdullah, that a commander from the commanders of the fitnah (strife) came to Medina, and the sight of Jabir had gone. It was said to Jabir, "If only you would move away from him." So he went out walking between his two sons, and he stumbled. He said, "May he be ruined who frightened the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him." His two sons—or one of them—said, "O father, and how did he frighten the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, when he has died?" He said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, say: 'Whoever frightens the people of Medina has frightened what is between my sides.'"
