Muhammad ibn Ja‘far and Hajjaj narrated to us, they said: Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, he said: I heard Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah say: I sought permission to enter upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he said: "Who is this?" I said: "I." The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "I, I." Muhammad said: It is as if he disliked his saying: "I."
