'Abd al-Wahhab—meaning Ibn 'Ata'—narrated to us, Usamah ibn Zayd al-Laythi informed us, from Muhammad ibn al-Munkadir, from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, entered the mosque, and there were people in it reciting the Quran. He said: "Recite the Quran and seek Allah through it, before a people come who will straighten it [recite it] as one straightens an arrow; they will seek to hasten its reward in this world and will not delay it for the hereafter."
