Musnad Ahmad 33:743

Ubaydah narrated to us, Al-Aswad ibn Qays narrated to me, from Nabih al-Anazi, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: We traveled with the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He said: Then the time for prayer arrived. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Is there no one among the people with purification water?" He said: A man came with a remainder in a water skin. He said: He poured it into a cup. He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, performed ablution. Then the people came for the remainder of the purification water, and they said: "Wipe yourselves, wipe yourselves." He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, heard them, and he said: "Take your time." He said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, struck his hand into the cup, into the depth of the water. He said: Then he said: "Perform the ablution of purification thoroughly." Jabir ibn Abdullah said: By the One who took away my sight—and his sight had indeed been taken away—I saw the water coming out from between the fingers of the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He did not lift his hand until they had all performed ablution. Al-Aswad said: I believe he said: "We were two hundred or more."
