'Affan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Wahid narrated to us, Sulayman al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who said: We went out with the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, having entered into the state of Ihram for Hajj. We performed Tawaf around the House (the Ka'bah) and performed Sa'i between al-Safa and al-Marwah. Then the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, commanded us to exit the state of Ihram. He said: So we went out to al-Batha. He said: A man began to say, "My covenant with my wife is today." The people spoke about that, so the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "If I had known in the beginning of my affair what I have come to know of it in the end, I would have exited the state of Ihram." The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, did not exit the state of Ihram because he had brought the sacrificial animals (Hady). So we entered into the state of Ihram when we headed toward Mina.
