مسند جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنه

Hadith 33:818

Abu Nu'aym narrated to us, Zakariya narrated to us, 'Amir narrated to us, Jabir ibn 'Abdullah narrated to me, that his father died and upon him was a debt. So I came to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and I said to him: "My father has died and upon him is a debt, and I have nothing except what his palm trees produce, and what they produce for years will not reach what is upon him." He said: "Go with me, so that the creditors do not treat me harshly." He walked around one of the piles of dates, then he supplicated and sat upon it, and said: "Where are his creditors?" Then he paid them what was theirs, and there remained the like of what he had given them.
