Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Sa‘id narrated to us, from Qatadah, from ‘Ata’ ibn Abi Rabah, from Jabir ibn ‘Abdullah, that when the news of the death of the Negus reached the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, he said: "Pray for a brother of yours who has died in a land other than yours." He said: So the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and his companions prayed over him. Jabir said: "And I was in the second or third row." He said: "And his name was Ashama."
