Musnad Ahmad 33:847

Muhammad ibn Ja‘far narrated to us, Shu‘bah narrated to us, from Mansur, from Salim ibn Abi al-Ja‘d, from Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah, that a man from the Ansar had a boy born to him, and he wanted to name him Muhammad. It was as if they disliked that, so he carried him on his shoulder and brought him to the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Name yourselves with my name, but do not use my kunyah (patronymic)."
