Asbat ibn Muhammad narrated to us, Abdullah ibn al-Walid al-Wassafi narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Ubayd ibn Umayr, who said: A group of the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, entered upon Jabir, so he presented bread and vinegar to them. He said: "Eat, for I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say: 'Excellent is the condiment, vinegar. It is a destruction for a man that a group of his brothers enter upon him, and he considers what is in his house too insignificant to present to them, and it is a destruction for the people that they consider insignificant what is presented to them.'"
