Musnad Ahmad 33:89

Waki' narrated to us, from Hammad ibn Salamah, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: "The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade that a sword be handed over while it is unsheathed."
