Musnad Ahmad 33:911

Ya'qub narrated to us, my father narrated to us, from Ibn Ishaq, Sa'id ibn Mina narrated to me, from Jabir ibn Abdullah, who said: We were working with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, at the Trench. He said: I had a small young ewe, fat. He said: I said, "By Allah, if we were to prepare it for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." He said: So I ordered my wife, and she ground some barley for us, and made bread from it for us, and I slaughtered that ewe, and we roasted it for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He said: When evening came and the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, wanted to leave the Trench—he said: We used to work in it during the day, and when evening came, we would return to our families—he said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, I have prepared for you a small ewe that we had, and we prepared with it some of this barley bread, and I would like for you to come with me to my house." And I only wanted the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to come with me alone. He said: When I said that to him, he said, "Yes." Then he ordered a crier, and he cried out: "Depart with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, to the house of Jabir." He said: I said, "Indeed we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return." Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, came forward, and the people came forward with him. He said: So he sat down, and we brought it out to him. He said: "He blessed it, mentioned the name of Allah, then ate, and the people followed him. Whenever a group finished, they would stand up, and other people would come, until the people of the Trench had all departed from it."
