'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, from Ma'mar, who said: Al-Zuhri said: Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman informed me, from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah, who said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, while he was speaking about the pause in revelation, and he said in his narration: "While I was walking, I heard a voice from the sky. I raised my head, and behold, the angel who had come to me at Hira was sitting on a chair between the sky and the earth. I was struck with fear of him, so I returned and said: 'Wrap me up, wrap me up!' So they wrapped me up. Then Allah revealed: 'O you who are wrapped in your garments, arise and warn' [Al-Muddaththir: 1-2] up to His saying: 'And keep away from idols' [Al-Muddaththir: 5]—before prayer was made obligatory—and it (the word 'al-rujz') means idols." Al-Zuhri said: And Abu Salamah ibn 'Abd al-Rahman informed me, from Jabir ibn 'Abd Allah al-Ansari, who said: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "I stood in the Hijr when my people disbelieved me, and Jerusalem was raised up for me until I began to describe its signs to them."
