Hadith 33:930
Muhammad ibn Bakr narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj informed us, Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn Abdullah say: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) provided us with a leather bag of dates. He would take a handful for us, a handful, then a date, a date, and we would suck on it and drink water over it until the night. Then the sea cast out a dead whale. Abu Ubaydah said: "We are on a military expedition, and we are hungry, so eat." We ate. We mentioned that to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), and he said: "It is a provision that Allah brought out for you. If you have any of it with you, then feed us." We had some of it with us, so some of the people sent some of it to him, and he ate from it.
