Hadith 33:97
Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan—and [in another chain] ‘Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Abu al-Zubayr, from Jabir, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "I have been commanded to fight the people until they say: 'There is no god but Allah.' If they say it, their blood and their wealth are protected from me by it, except for its right, and their reckoning is with Allah." Then he recited, and mentioned: {You are only a reminder; you are not a controller over them} [Al-Ghashiyah: 21-22].
