Musnad Ahmad 33:98

Waki' narrated to us, al-A'mash narrated to us, from Abu Sufyan, from Jabir, who said: They said, "O Messenger of Allah, which jihad is the most excellent?" He said, "He whose horse is hamstrung and whose blood is spilled."
