Musnad Ahmad 33:986

Rawh ibn ‘Ubadah narrated to us, Ibn Jurayj narrated to us, Abu al-Zubayr informed me that he heard Jabir ibn ‘Abd Allah saying: I heard the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) saying: "There is no contagion, no Safar, and no Ghul." And I heard Abu al-Zubayr mentioning that Jabir explained to them his saying: "No Safar." Abu al-Zubayr said: "Safar is the belly." It was said to Jabir: "How?" He said: "It used to be said: the creatures of the belly." He said: "And he did not explain the Ghul." Abu al-Zubayr said from his own [understanding]: "This Ghul which misleads is the female devil that they speak of."
