Musnad Ahmad 1302:26

Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, Shu'bah informed us, from Mughirah, from Ibrahim, from 'Alqamah, that he arrived in Ash-Sham and entered the mosque of Damascus. He prayed two rak'ahs in it and said: "O Allah, grant me a righteous companion." He said: So he came and sat next to Abu ad-Darda'. Abu ad-Darda' said to him: "Where are you from?" He said: "From the people of Kufa." He said: "How did you hear Ibn Umm 'Abd (Ibn Mas'ud) reciting: 'By the night when it covers, and the day when it appears'?" 'Alqamah said: "[And the male and the female]." Abu ad-Darda' said: "I indeed heard it from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, but these people did not cease until they made me doubt." Then he said: "Was there not among you the owner of the pillow, and the owner of the secret which no one knows except him, and the one who was granted protection from the Shaytan by the tongue of the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him?" The owner of the pillow is Ibn Mas'ud, the owner of the secret is Hudhayfah, and the one who was granted protection from the Shaytan is 'Ammar.
