Musnad Ahmad 1302:37

Muhammad ibn Ja'far narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Mughirah, that he heard Ibrahim narrating, he said: 'Alqamah came to Al-Sham and prayed two rak'ahs, then said: "O Allah, grant me a righteous companion." He said: So I sat with a man, and behold, it was Abu al-Darda'. He said: "From whom are you?" I said: "From the people of Kufa." He said: "Do you know how 'Abdullah used to recite this verse: {By the night when it covers, and the day when it appears, and He who created the male and female}?" I said: "He used to recite it: 'By the night when it covers, and the day when it appears, and the male and the female.'" He said: "Thus I heard the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, recite it. But these people have not ceased [trying to] convince me until they almost made me doubt." Then he said: "Is there not among you the possessor of the pillow and the siwak?"—meaning 'Abdullah ibn Mas'ud. "Is there not among you the one whom Allah protected by the tongue of His Prophet from the Shaytan?"—meaning 'Ammar ibn Yasir. "Is there not among you the one who knows the secret, and no one else knows it?"—meaning Hudhayfah.
