Musnad Ahmad 456:10

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Ubayd Allah ibn 'Abd Allah, from Abu Hurayrah and Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani, that a man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "My son was a hired servant for this man, and he committed adultery with his wife. I was informed that my son must be stoned, so I ransomed him with a slave girl and one hundred sheep. Then, the people of knowledge informed me that my son must receive one hundred lashes and banishment for a year, and that the wife of this man must be stoned." He (the narrator) thought he said: "So judge between us by the Book of Allah." The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "By the One in Whose hand is my soul, I will surely judge between you by the Book of Allah. As for the sheep and the slave girl, they are returned to you. As for your son, he must receive one hundred lashes and banishment for a year." Then he said to a man from Aslam called Unays: "Stand, O Unays, and ask the wife of this man; if she confesses, then stone her."
