Yahya ibn Ishaq narrated to us, Ibn Lahi'ah informed us, from Bakr ibn Sawadah. Surayj—he is Ibn al-Nu'man—narrated to us, he said: Ibn Wahb narrated to us, from 'Amr ibn al-Harith, from Bakr ibn Sawadah, from Abu Salim al-Jayshani, from Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whoever shelters a stray animal is himself astray, as long as he does not make it known."
