Musnad Ahmad 456:9

'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ma'mar narrated to us, from 'Abd Allah ibn Muhammad ibn 'Aqil ibn Abi Talib, from Khalid ibn Zayd ibn Khalid al-Juhani, from his father, Zayd ibn Khalid, that he asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—or that a man asked the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him—about the stray sheep. He said: "It is for you, or for your brother, or for the wolf." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about the stray camel?" He said: "What do you have to do with it? It has its water skin and its shoes, and it eats from the tips of the trees." He said: "O Messenger of Allah, what do you say about lost money (silver) if I find it?" He said: "Know its container, its tie, and its number, then announce it for a year. If its owner comes, then hand it over to him; otherwise, it is for you, or enjoy it," or something similar to this.
