Musnad of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (RA)

Hadith 8:1

'Affan narrated to us, 'Abd al-Warith narrated to us, Ibn Abi Najih narrated to us, he said: I asked Tawus about a man who threw six pebbles at the Jamrah. He said: "He should feed a handful of food." He said: So I met Mujahid and asked him, and I mentioned to him the statement of Tawus. He said: "May Allah have mercy on Abu 'Abd al-Rahman. Has the statement of Sa'd ibn Malik not reached him? He said: 'We threw the Jamarat—or the Jamrah—during our Hajj with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).' Then we sat down discussing, and among us were those who said: 'I threw six,' and among us were those who said: 'I threw seven,' and among us were those who said: 'I threw eight,' and among us were those who said: 'I threw nine.' And they did not see any harm in that."
