Abu Abd al-Rahman Mu'ammal ibn Isma'il and 'Affan narrated to us—the meaning is the same—they said: Hammad narrated to us, 'Asim narrated to us, from Mus'ab ibn Sa'd, from his father: That a bowl of tharid (a dish of bread and meat broth) was brought to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He ate, and some of it remained. He said: "A man from the people of Paradise will enter through this mountain pass and eat this remainder." Sa'd said: I had left my brother, 'Umayr ibn Abi Waqqas, preparing himself to come to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, so I hoped that it would be him. Then 'Abdullah ibn Salam came and ate it.
