Musnad Ahmad 8:25

Abu Sa’id, the freed slave of Banu Hashim, narrated to us, Sulayman ibn Bilal narrated to us, al-Ju’ayd ibn ‘Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from ‘A’ishah bint Sa’d, from her father: That ‘Ali went out with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, until he reached Thaniyat al-Wada’, and ‘Ali was weeping, saying: "Do you leave me behind with the women?" He said: "Are you not pleased that you should be to me in the position of Aaron to Moses, except that there is no prophethood?"
