Musnad Ahmad 8:47

'Abd al-Rahman narrated to us, from Hammam, from Qatadah, from Yunus ibn Jubayr, from Muhammad ibn Sa'd, from his father, that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, visited him in Makkah while he was ill. He said: "I have no one but one daughter, shall I bequeath all of my wealth?" The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "No." He said: "Shall I bequeath half of it?" The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "No." He said: "Shall I bequeath a third of it?" He said: "A third, and a third is large."
