Musnad of Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas (RA)
Hadith 8:84
'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar informed us, from al-Zuhri, from 'Amir ibn Sa'd ibn Abi Waqqas, from his father, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, gave to some men, but did not give anything to one man among them. Sa'd said: "O Prophet of Allah, you gave to so-and-so and so-and-so, but you did not give anything to so-and-so, even though he is a believer." The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Or a Muslim." Sa'd repeated it three times, and the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, kept saying: "Or a Muslim." Then the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Indeed, I give to some men, and I leave out those who are more beloved to me than them, not giving them anything, for fear that they might be cast into the Fire upon their faces."
