Hadith 9:24

Yazid narrated to us, al-Mas'udi narrated to us, from Nufayl ibn Hisham ibn Sa'id ibn Zayd ibn 'Amr ibn Nufayl, from his father, from his grandfather, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was in Makkah, he and Zayd ibn Harithah. Zayd ibn 'Amr ibn Nufayl passed by them, so they invited him to a meal of theirs. He said: "O son of my brother, I do not eat from what has been slaughtered for the idols." He said: So the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was never seen after that eating anything that had been slaughtered for the idols. He said: I said, "O Messenger of Allah, my father was as you have seen and as has reached you, and had he reached you, he would have believed in you and followed you. So, shall I seek forgiveness for him?" He said: "Yes, so seek forgiveness for him, for he will be resurrected on the Day of Resurrection as a nation by himself."
