Waki’ narrated to us, Qasim ibn al-Fadl narrated to us, Thumamah ibn Hazn narrated to me, he said: I asked ‘Aishah about *nabidh* (a drink made by soaking dates or raisins in water). She said: "This is the servant of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, so ask her." The girl was Abyssinian. She said: "I used to prepare *nabidh* for the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in a waterskin at night, and I would tie it. Then, when morning came, he would drink from it."
