Musnad Ahmad 1153:1072

Muhammad ibn ‘Amr said: Sa‘id ibn Yasar narrated to me, from Abu Hurayrah, from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, who said: "Indeed, the angels attend the deceased. If he is a righteous man, they say: 'Come out, O good soul, that was in a good body. Come out praiseworthy, and receive glad tidings of mercy and fragrance, and a Lord who is not angry.' It is continuously said to it until it comes out. Then it is ascended with to the heaven, and it is requested to be opened for it. It is asked: 'Who is this?' It is said: 'So-and-so.' It is said: 'Welcome to the good soul that was in the good body. Enter praiseworthy, and receive glad tidings of mercy and fragrance, and a Lord who is not angry.' It is continuously said to it until it is brought to the heaven in which Allah, the Mighty and Majestic, is. If he is an evil man, they say: 'Come out, O wicked soul, that was in a wicked body. Come out of it blameworthy, and receive glad tidings of boiling water and pus, and others of its kind, of similar nature.' It is continuously said to it until it comes out. Then it is ascended with to the heaven, and it is requested to be opened for it. It is asked: 'Who is this?' It is said: 'So-and-so.' It is said: 'No welcome to the wicked soul that was in the wicked body. Return blameworthy, for the gates of heaven will not be opened for you.' Then it is sent down from the heaven, and it returns to the grave." The righteous man is made to sit, and it is said to him... [and he responds just as in the hadith of ‘Aishah, exactly]. The evil man is made to sit, and it is said to him... [and he responds just as in the hadith of ‘Aishah, exactly].
