Musnad Ahmad 1153:1082

Yazid narrated to us, he said: Muhammad—meaning Ibn ‘Amr—informed us, from Abu Salamah, from ‘Aishah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) made an appointment with Gabriel for a time at which he would come to him. He was delayed in coming to him at that time. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went out and found him standing at the door. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "I waited for you for our appointment." He said: "There is a dog in the house, and we do not enter a house in which there is a dog or an image." There was a puppy under ‘Aishah’s bed. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered it to be taken out. Then, when morning came, he ordered the dogs to be killed.
