Musnad of the truthful one, Aisha bint al-Siddiq (RA)

Hadith 1153:1083
Yazid narrated to us, he said: Muhammad informed us, from Abu Salamah, who said: I asked Aisha: "How did the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, fast?" She said: "He would fast until we would say: 'He does not break his fast,' and he would break his fast until we would say: 'He does not fast.' I did not see him fast more in any month than he did in Sha'ban; he would fast all of Sha'ban except for a little, or rather, he would fast all of Sha'ban."
حدثنا يزيد، قال: أخبرنا محمد، عن أبي سلمة، قال: سألت عائشة: كيف كان رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يصوم؟ قالت: " كان يصوم حتى نقول: لا يفطر، ويفطر حتى نقول: لا يصوم، لم أره في شهر أكثر صياما منه في شعبان، كان يصوم شعبان كله إلا قليلا، بل كان يصوم شعبان كله "
