Musnad Ahmad 1153:1100

Yazid narrated to us, Ja'far ibn Kaysan informed us, and Yahya ibn Ishaq and 'Affan [narrated] the same meaning—and this is the wording of Yazid's hadith, and they did not differ regarding the chain of narration or the meaning—they said: Ja'far ibn Kaysan al-'Adawi informed us, he said: Mu'adhah bint 'Abd Allah al-'Adawiyyah narrated to us, she said: I entered upon 'Aishah, and she said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "My nation will not perish except by stabbing (al-ta'n) and the plague (al-ta'un)." I said: "O Messenger of Allah, this stabbing we have known, but what is the plague?" He said: "A swelling like the swelling of a camel; the one who remains in it is like a martyr, and the one who flees from it is like the one who flees from the battlefield."
