Hadith 1153:1230

Abu al-Nadr narrated to us, Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from Yahya—meaning Ibn Abi Kathir—from Abu Hafsah, the freed slave of 'Aishah, that 'Aishah informed him: "When the sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), he performed ablution and ordered that it be announced: 'As-salatu jami'ah' (prayer is gathering). He stood and prolonged the standing in his prayer. He said: 'I think he recited Surah al-Baqarah.' Then he bowed and prolonged the bowing. Then he said: 'Sami' Allahu liman hamidah' (Allah hears those who praise Him), then he stood for as long as he had stood [before], and he did not prostrate. Then he bowed, then he prostrated. Then he stood and did the same as he had done [in the first rak'ah]. Then he bowed two bowings in one prostration, then he sat, and the sun had cleared."

حدثنا أبو النضر، حدثنا أبو معاوية، عن يحيى يعني ابن أبي كثير، عن أبي حفصة، مولى عائشة، أن عائشة، أخبرته " أنه لما كسفت الشمس على عهد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم، توضأ، وأمر فنودي أن الصلاة جامعة. فقام، فأطال القيام في صلاته. قال: فأحسبه قرأ سورة البقرة، ثم ركع، فأطال الركوع، ثم قال: سمع الله لمن حمده، ثم قام مثل ما قام، ولم يسجد، ثم ركع، فسجد، ثم قام، فصنع مثل ما صنع، ثم ركع ركعتين في سجدة، ثم جلس وجلي عن الشمس "
