Hadith 1153:1294
Ibn Numayr narrated to us, Hisham informed us, from his father, from Aisha, who said: The sun eclipsed during the time of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, stood to pray, and he prolonged the standing greatly. Then he bowed and prolonged the bowing greatly. Then he raised his head and stood, and he prolonged the standing greatly, and it was shorter than the first standing. Then he bowed and prolonged the bowing greatly, and it was shorter than the first bowing. Then he prostrated. Then he stood and prolonged the standing, and it was shorter than the first standing. Then he bowed and prolonged the bowing, and it was shorter than the first bowing. Then he raised his head and stood, and he prolonged the standing, and it was shorter than the first standing. Then he bowed and prolonged the bowing, and it was shorter than the first bowing. Then he prostrated. The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, finished while the sun had cleared. He addressed the people, praised Allah the Almighty and extolled Him, then said: "Indeed, the sun and the moon are among the signs of Allah, and they do not eclipse for the death of anyone, nor for his life. So when you see them, say 'Allahu Akbar' (Allah is the Greatest), supplicate to Allah the Almighty, pray, and give charity. O nation of Muhammad, there is no one more jealous than Allah the Almighty that His male servant should commit adultery or His female servant should commit adultery. O nation of Muhammad, by Allah, if you knew what I know, you would weep much and laugh little. Have I not conveyed?"
