'Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, he said: Ibn Jurayj informed us, he said: I heard Ibn Abi Mulaykah, he said: Dhakwan, the freed slave of 'Aishah, said: I heard 'Aishah saying: I asked the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, about the young woman whose family marries her off: Is she to be asked for permission or not? The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said to her: "She is to be asked for permission." 'Aishah said: So I said to him: But she feels shy, so she remains silent. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "That is her permission, if she remains silent."
