Musnad Ahmad 1153:1423

I read to Abd al-Rahman: Malik, from Ibn Shihab, and Muhammad ibn Ja’far narrated to us, he said: Malik narrated to us, from al-Zuhri, from Urwah, from Aisha, that she said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, in the year of the Farewell Pilgrimage, and we entered into the state of ihram for Umrah. Then the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever has a sacrificial animal with him, let him enter into the state of ihram for Hajj along with the Umrah, then he shall not exit the state of ihram until he exits it from both of them together." She said: So I arrived in Makkah while I was menstruating, and I did not perform tawaf around the House, nor between al-Safa and al-Marwah. I complained of that to the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and he said: "Undo your hair, comb it, enter into the state of ihram for Hajj, and leave the Umrah." She said: So I did. When we had completed the Hajj, the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent me with Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr to al-Tan’im, so I performed Umrah. He said: "This is in place of your Umrah." She said: Those who had entered into the state of ihram for Umrah performed tawaf around the House and between al-Safa and al-Marwah, then they exited the state of ihram. Then they performed another tawaf after they returned from Mina for their Hajj. As for those who combined Hajj and Umrah, they performed one tawaf.
